The Weaker Sex

Mata Pita Guru Deivam I have read different explanations for this verse. Mother introduces the father, father initiates the child to a teacher and the teacher enlightens us to God. The other being Mother, Father, Teacher and God are ordered by descending order of importance. The way we perceive things is what makes us all different and unique. Inspite of being a staunch feminist, I have to admit there have been moments when I have wished ..... Ahem... How I wish I were a man ? It was when I had to return to hostel by 11:00 p.m in BITS, it was when I had to always look after my back in Paris. Being a romantic, it was when I saw how men pined and longed for their lady love with so much passion... However something happened which put a definite end to such thoughts. I became a Mom. Life is about graduation, from child you become a teen, from a teen you mature into an adult, from adult you become a parent. I had my apprehensions and fears when I heard the news I was soon going to have a baby. But what I didnt expect, was something which I feared so much, Pain could give me so much sense of accomplishment. Ask a mountaineer what does he achieve by putting the body through such tribulations and pain, he would answer the sense of overcoming the pain. I dont remember the hours spent in pain, I remember the tears from the eyes of body I created..... I am what I can

India - A country known for its rich culture, A country known for its great leaders, A country known for its brilliant minds, A country known for its diverse languages, A country known for its women atrocity ? Recently India has been in headlines for lot of women related issues. Rape, acid attack, sexual harrasment, domestic violence. How did this happen ? We were the most cultured, we were the ones who respected women. Well this didnt happen overnight, it took years and years of work. The work of men who took up the role of moral heads deciding how a woman must live her life. The work of women who agreed and taught their sons that they can rule a woman. The work of so many daughters who were too afraid to voice their opinion. The work of so many brothers who behaved as jail wardens to protect their sisters. Finally there has been a showdown of our hypocisy, the whole world sees our sham Well what is sad is the world is a spectator nobody a Doer !

Have you felt the sudden rush of adrenaline before an exciting roller coaster ride ? A range of emotions go through our mind anticipation, exultation, thrill mixed with a queasy feeling of butterflies in stomach and little bit of fear. The first feeling of love evokes the same memories in me, intoxication , anticipation, fear of how it would go.... The power of music is unbelievable, some songs take you to the past, make you relive those moments of happiness, those memories of first love......
La La Laalala La La LaaLala...... Chinna Chinna Vanna Kuyil Konji Konji Koovuthamma Puriyaatha Anantham Puthithaaga Arambam Koothadum Thenmottu Naana Naana
Yes Yes Yes ! I am finally going to K.S Chitra and S.P.B concert, after years of waiting and being in cities where I didn't have the opportunity, this year I am going to have the privilege of meeting these legends who have transformed my life, who have helped me get through difficult phases, who have shared my exultation, who were a part of my life in happiness, who cried with me in sorrow, who were there with me always through their songs........
Theerthakaraiyinile Therku Moolayil Chenbaga thottathile paarthu erunthaal varuven vennilaavile paanginyo enru sonnai........... Vaarthai thavari vittai adi kannama maarbu thudikkuthadi...
Loneliness, this word always evokes a feeling of fear, darkness , melancholy in me but through S.P.B I have started enjoying loneliness. The depth of loneliness he conveys is amazing..... your heart throbs, it aches for those you miss , it cries out saying "Unakkenna mele nindrai Oh Nandala" what expressions... what a soulful rendering........ Quoting the great Music Legend Ilayaraja "I am just an instrument in sync with the hearts of other instruments, so when I play a string, the hearts of other instruments are automatically moved........" Looking forward to loneliness, happiness, sweet romance, chirpy playfulness, heart wrenching sadness, yes looking forward to THE CONCERT

Ghazal

Mein Khayal Hoon Kisi Aur Ka Mujhe Sochta Koi Aur Hai
Sar-E-Aeenah Mera Aks Hai Pas-E-Aeenah Koi Aur Hai

I dwell in the wish of one while another keeps me in his
thoughts
In the mirror it is my reflection, but behind the mirror is someone else

Mein Kisi Keh Dast-E-Talab Mein Hoon To Kisi Keh Harf-E-Dua Mein Hoon
Mein Naseeb Hoon Kisi Aur Ka Mejhe Maangta Koi Aur Hai

I am (easily) attained by one yet some one else prays to attain me
I have become the destiny of one while another begs for me

Ajab Aitabar-O-Bey Aitabaree Ke Darmayan Hai Zindagi
Mein Qareeb Hoon Kisi Aur Keh Mujhe Jaanta Koi Aur Hai

Life seems to straddle between a certain belief and disbelief
I am intimate with one but another actually knows (understands) me

Meri Roshni Teri Khat-O-Khaal Se Mukhtalif To Nahin Magar
Tu Qareeb Aa Tujhe Dekh Loon Tu Wohi Hai Yaa Koi Aur Hai

My light is nothing other than the drawn line and mole of your face, but
Come close so that I see if you are the same or someone else

Tujhe Dushmanon Ki Khabar Na thi Mujhe Doston Ka Pata Na tha
Teri Daastan Koi Aur Thi Mera Waaqaya Koi Aur Hai

You are not aware of your foes, I don't know who my friends are
Your tale was something else, my episode is something else

Jo Milen Kabhi Unhen Poochna nahiiN Dekhna Unhen Ghaur Sey
Jinhen Raastey Mein Khabar Hui Keh Yeh Raasta Koi Aur Hai

When you meet him (them) do not question, just look at him attentively
The one who discovered along the way that this path is another path

Wohi Munsifon Ki Rawaayat Hai Wohi Faisala'on Ki Ebarat Hai
Mera Jurm Ko Koi Aur Tha Ye Meri Sazaa Koi Aur Hai

The narratives and verdicts of the Just are such that
My crime was one person but my punishment is someone else

Jo Meri Reyazat-E-Neem Shab Ko Saleem Subh Na Mil Saki
To Pir Is Key Mani To Yeh Hue Keh Yahan Khuda Koi Aur Hai

When my mid-night devotion could not attain the morning*, Saliim
What does this mean except that over here God is someone else

Meghamalhar

Meghamalhar - Evokes memories of monsoon, chill breeze, thoughts of wet mud, childhood

I first heard about this movie from the song oru naru pushpamai song.

The movie is like a tender brush of feather on the cheek which touches you without actually touching you.

In this age of over dramatization and acting overboard, this movie stands tall in natural characterization and subtle expressions.

The movie is about two people an advocate (Rajiv) who is married with two kids and a story writer (Nandita) who is also married with her husband in Gulf. Initially they both meet by chance and develop a liking towards each other.

Over time their affection for each other grows and blossoms. Meanwhile Nandita comes to know that Rajiv is none other than her childhood best friend, making the relationship even more special. The words affection, friendship, love are so closely entwined, often it is difficult to separate one from the other. Rajiv professes his love to Nandita and Nandita alienates herself from Rajiv due to the sudden turn of events

The movie ends with Nandita explaining her stand, a relationship which would take us away from people who love us so much is not correct and not requied.

Sambhala Hai Maine

Excellent lyrics, beautiful voice, perfect whistling makes this song really a treat to listen

sambhaalaa hai maine bahut apne dil ko,
zubaan par teraa fir bhee naam aa rahaa hai
jahaa raaz ko chhupaayaa naa jaaye,
mohabbat mein aisa makaam aa rahaa hai

banaayaa hain maine tujhe apanaa saathee,
rahe kis tarah fir mere hosh baakee

nazar yun bahakane lagee hai ki jaise,
mere saamne koee jaam aa rahaa hai

ye Zulfon ke baadal ghanere, ghanere,
mere baajooon par jo too ne bikhere

mai samjha ki jaise meree dhadakanon ko,
teree dhadakanon kaa payaam aa rahaa hai
